Oak Creek, incorporated 1907, is a statutory town located in southern Routt County, Colorado. According to the 2010 census, the population is 884. Originally established as a coal mining community, Oak Creek’s economy is still supported by the Twentymile Mine, although many of our residents also commute further north to work in and around Steamboat Springs. Oak Creek residents’ occupations range from those in the sales, hospitality and service industries to agriculture, business, construction, retail, transportation, utilities, administration, education, entertainment/recreation and more.

Many sites and services are available in Town including our local library, community center, branch of Colorado Northwest Community College, several restaurants/bars, lodging accommodations, multiple parks, as well as our Town Hall, museum, fire department, post office, school district, bank, pharmacy, market, and general store (please see our Community Services link for additional information).
