Learn to Skate 

Learn how to ice skate in a safe, fun, and challenging environment. Our ice skating program for beginners teaches skaters how to master the basics of ice skating while providing a solid foundation. 

  • Learn to Skate will be on Mondays and Wednesdays starting the week of January 10th and ending the week of February 7th. 
  • Ages 5 through 12
  • Cost will be $35 for Monday or Wednesday, and $70 for both days
  • Parents will need to drop their students off at 4:30 p.m. at the Oak Creek Ice Rink and pick up will be at 5:00 p.m. 

Please fill out the Learn to Skate Registration Form and send it to or turn it in at Oak Creek Town Hall. 


  • Cheerleading will be on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:00 from January 11th until February 8th. 
  • Ages 5 through 12
  • Cost will be $35 
  • Students can take the bus or get dropped off at the Community Center
  • Pick up will be from 5:15 to 6:00 at the Community Center 
  • We will provide equipment, snacks, and transportation

After School Program 

The Town of Oak Creek’s After School Program will be starting on Tuesday, August 24th. The After School Program runs from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Students participating in the After School Program can take the Soroco bus to the South Routt Community Center. The After School Program provides a daily snack, fun arts and crafts, homework time, as well as free time for your child to unwind and have fun with their peers. If you would like to sign your student up, please contact Erika Petersen at or 970-200-4149. Stay tuned, we will also be offering fun clubs during the After School Program this fall!

Full Day Friday Program 

The Town of Oak Creek’s Full Day Friday program will be starting again on January 7th. Full Day Friday will run from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the South Routt Community Center. This program is for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Students will be able to participate in free play, arts and crafts, outside time, fun activities, and field trips.

To register for the Full Day Friday, please email a completed registration form to Erika Petersen at or bring in your registration form to Oak Creek Town Hall.

Please read the current Town of Oak Creek School Age Care Handbook. Parents and guardians must comply with the rules & regulations of the programs as stated in the Handbook regarding tuition, registration,
discipline, attendance, health, clothing and other items as specified.

Financial Assistance: If your family needs to apply for financial assistance, there are three programs you can apply for. The Department of Human Services offers the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) for those who qualify. If you do not qualify for CCCAP, you can apply for First Impressions Tuition Assistance. If you do not qualify for either of these programs, you can apply for the Town of Oak Creek’s Tuition Assistance Program. For more information, contact Erika at
